What is wharton-scott house?

The Wharton-Scott House is a historic plantation house located in Edgard, Louisiana. It was built in the late 19th century and is considered one of the finest examples of rural Victorian architecture in the Gulf South. The house was originally owned by William Wharton, a wealthy sugar planter, and was later acquired by the Scott family, who owned it until 1962. The house has been restored and is now open for public tours. The Wharton-Scott House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
